MYOB has launched new AI tools targeted at small businesses, aiming to enhance efficiency in BAS filing and bank reconciliation while maintaining transparency and human oversight. The key feature is an AI-driven BAS tool that automatically imports and categorizes transactions from bank feeds, calculates GST, and prepares files for submission to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). Currently in beta and offered free of charge, this tool also identifies missing receipts and suggests deductions. Other features include enhanced bank transaction reconciliation, informed by prior user behavior, and automated payment reminders for overdue invoices. MYOB ensures that AI outputs require human verification to minimize errors. The platform emphasizes data privacy, adhering to global security standards and Australian laws. MYOB’s CEO, Paul Robson, highlighted the importance of using AI to address small business challenges, positioning the platform to significantly boost productivity in accounting tasks.
