On June 10, the Goa Police launched two AI-based tools, “Spot the Scam” and “Radical Content Analyser,” for national use, after their initial rollout earlier this year. These tools, developed with BITS Pilani Goa, focus on combating cyber fraud and online extremism by detecting phishing schemes, scam applications, and hate content in videos. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant emphasized the partnership between the police and academia as a model for tech-driven governance. The tools are part of a broader digital transformation strategy within Goa Police, which includes initiatives like Quick Pass and Deep Trace, plus future projects such as a cybercrime call center linked to helpline 1930 and a mobile-based tenant verification system. These efforts aim to enhance investigations and improve public service delivery.
