New App Integrates AMD’s AI-Powered FSR Redstone Frame Generation into Unsupported Games — Pre-Alpha OptiScaler Build Demonstrates Significant Enhancements Over Legacy FSR Frame Generation

A Reddit user showcased AMD’s new ML-powered FSR Redstone frame generation in Monster Hunter Wilds, leveraging a community-built OptiScaler pre-alpha version to bypass official restrictions. This demonstration, shared on the r/radeon subreddit, features side-by-side comparisons of the older FSR Redstone and the latest version, showing improvements in frame quality. AMD recently expanded Redstone ML frame generation with Adrenalin 25.12.1, and it’s positioned as a more advanced alternative to FidelityFX Super Resolution 3. Officially, Redstone requires newer integrations linked to recent Radeon hardware, with FSR 3.1.4 including essential camera parameters for ML support. The showcased footage indicates reduced ghosting and fewer artifacts, aligning with AMD’s objectives for improved ML-based predictions. However, using OptiScaler, an unsupported tool, poses risks, particularly in online environments. Despite hardware compatibility concerns, AMD’s Redstone can enhance image quality, demonstrating potential even in legacy games, while community efforts fill gaps in support.
