Nissan and Monolith have extended their strategic partnership for three years, leveraging advanced artificial intelligence (AI) to revolutionize vehicle development and minimize physical testing. Initially implemented for the Nissan Leaf electric vehicle, Monolith’s AI will now enhance a broader range of testing for upcoming European models. Engineers at Nissan Technical Centre Europe will utilize historical test data alongside Monolith’s AI to predict physical test outcomes, significantly reducing dependency on physical prototypes. This collaboration aims to streamline development processes, allowing engineers to focus on problem-solving. Previously, the partnership achieved a 17% reduction in physical testing for bolt joints, indicating potential halving of overall development time for Nissan’s European range. Emma Deutsch from Nissan emphasized how AI-driven simulations improve precision and accelerate time-to-market, aligning with Nissan’s global recovery plan, RE:Nissan, to innovate and enhance sustainability.
