Nordic Acquires Neuton.AI to Enhance TinyML Edge AI Initiative

Nordic Semiconductor has acquired Neuton.AI’s core technology to enhance edge AI capabilities, particularly in low-power machine learning applications. This acquisition will allow Nordic to incorporate Neuton’s fully automated TinyML framework into its nRF54 Series wireless chips, enabling the creation of ultra-small machine learning models—often under 5 KB—without complex coding or architecture tuning. These models are designed for deployment in resource-constrained environments, making AI accessible for applications like predictive maintenance and smart health monitoring. The integration aims to simplify AI deployment for engineers across various industries, enhancing on-device processing while reducing reliance on the cloud. With the market for TinyML chipsets projected to reach $5.9 billion by 2030, Nordic is positioning itself to capitalize on the growing demand for efficient, embedded AI solutions. The integration will also welcome 13 Neuton engineers to Nordic, ensuring continuity of support for existing users during the transition.
