UK-based AI infrastructure provider Nscale is collaborating with OpenAI and Nvidia on the Stargate UK project, aimed at enhancing global AI computing capacity. As part of this partnership, OpenAI plans to procure up to 8,000 NVIDIA GPUs in Q1 2026, with scalability to 31,000 GPUs. Stargate UK will be established in various locations, including Cobalt Park, within the newly designated AI Growth Zone in the North East. Nscale will also implement 4,600 NVIDIA GB300 GPUs in collaboration with NVIDIA DGX™ Cloud, benefiting AI developers nationwide. Additionally, Nscale is advancing its AI Campus in Loughton in partnership with Microsoft, which will provide 50MW of AI capacity, expandable to 90MW, featuring 23,040 NVIDIA GB300 GPUs by Q1 2027. This facility is crucial for enhancing Microsoft’s Azure services across the UK, supporting diverse economic sectors.
