Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman are joining President Trump in the U.K. to announce substantial investments aimed at bolstering the country’s AI infrastructure. This deal is part of a larger push by U.S. tech firms to invest in the U.K., supported by government initiatives through AI Growth Zones designed to enhance digital infrastructure. Nvidia and OpenAI plan multi-billion-dollar investments in U.K. data centers, collaborating with data center operator Nscale, which is set to launch a facility in Loughton by 2026. The overall investment could reach $3 billion, contributing to the U.K. government’s goal of achieving at least 6 GW of AI-capable data center capacity by 2030. AI Growth Zones will facilitate rapid deployment of these resources, with the first sites confirmed by 2025, fostering innovation through collaboration between companies, universities, and government entities.
