Nvidia recently unveiled significant advancements in supercomputing and AI at Supercomputing 2025 (SC25) in St. Louis. Announcing partnerships with Japan’s Riken, Nvidia introduced two new supercomputers utilizing GB200 systems. The first combines traditional supercomputing and AI for applications in manufacturing and quantum research, powered by 1,600 Blackwell GPUs. The second integrates GPUs with Riken’s quantum HPC structure, utilizing 540 Blackwell GPUs. Nvidia also revealed plans for its Solstice and Equinox supercomputers for the US Department of Energy, delivering exceptional AI performance. Introducing the Apollo AI physics model family, Nvidia enhances real-time industrial simulations for sectors like aerospace and electronics. Additionally, Nvidia’s Quantum-X Photonics technology aims to revolutionize networking, achieving up to 115 Tb/s bandwidth while improving efficiency. With 80 new systems and 300,000 GPUs committed since SC24, Nvidia continues to lead in high-performance and quantum computing solutions, positioning its partners for future breakthroughs in AI and science.
