OpenAI and Anthropic are enhancing the usage limits for their AI coding tools, Codex and Claude, during the holiday season. This year-end boost allows developers and professionals to access increased capacities, especially for those frequently hitting limitations during peak work periods. OpenAI has doubled the standard rate limits for Codex, effective until January 1, 2026. Thibault Sottiaux, a Technical Staff member at OpenAI, announced this initiative as a gesture of appreciation for user feedback and engagement. Codex supports end-to-end software development, enabling code generation and editing through text prompts and images, compatible with platforms like ChatGPT and Visual Studio Code. Similarly, Anthropic’s Claude AI will offer doubled usage limits for Pro and Max subscribers from December 25 to December 31, although this promotion is limited to individual users, excluding Team and Enterprise plans. Both existing and new subscribers are eligible, ensuring enhanced user experience during this period.
