OpenAI and IndiaAI Unveil OpenAI Academy to Foster AI Education Across India

OpenAI, in collaboration with the IndiaAI Mission under the IT Ministry, has launched the OpenAI Academy India, marking its first international educational initiative. This program aims to enhance access to AI education and tools within India’s burgeoning developer community and startup ecosystem. An MoU was signed to outline partnership objectives, focusing on expanding AI skills training for various learners, including students and small business owners. The Academy offers hybrid learning options in English and Hindi, with plans for additional regional languages. OpenAI will also integrate educational content into the IndiaAI Mission’s FutureSkills platform, and provide resources on the iGOT Karmayogi platform for government officials. The initiative includes webinars, workshops, and hackathons across multiple states, along with $100,000 in API credits for approved startups. This effort is expected to democratize access to AI knowledge, fostering innovation and community learning in the region.
