OpenAI Boosts Safety with New Age Prediction Features in ChatGPT

OpenAI is launching “Age Predictions” for ChatGPT users in the EU, aimed at enhancing safety by assessing whether a user is under 18. This feature will analyze account activity and usage patterns, imposing restrictions on sensitive content for younger users. If ChatGPT identifies a user as potentially underage, it will limit exposure to topics like graphic violence, dangerous challenges, and body shaming. Users can verify their age through a selfie if mistakenly restricted. The update also introduces parental controls, allowing parents to set “quiet hours” for AI access, manage what the AI remembers, and receive alerts for signs of distress. Additionally, OpenAI is rolling out a new affordable subscription tier, ChatGPT Go, and testing ads within conversations, which will not utilize user data for targeting. This gradual rollout aims to ensure accuracy while aligning with regional requirements. Discover more at Android Central for updates on your favorite AI tools.
