Sierra Technologies, an innovative AI firm co-founded by OpenAI Chairman Bret Taylor, is poised to lease 300,000 square feet in the Wharfside Building, China Basin, South Beach. This significant office space deal, reported by the San Francisco Business Times, follows Taylor’s partnership with ex-Google colleague Clay Bavor in 2023 and marks the largest office lease since OpenAI’s acquisition of Old Navy’s former headquarters last year. Sierra, which specializes in AI agents for corporate tasks and customer support, has attracted clients like Clear, ADT, and Sirius XM. The company, previously headquartered at 235 2nd St., has raised over $635 million in funding, including a recent $350 million round, elevating its valuation to around $10 billion. Additionally, Sierra plans to expand internationally with a new office in Singapore to serve the Southeast Asian market. This move highlights Sierra’s competitive stance against Salesforce in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
