OpenAI is partnering with the U.S. government to provide its ChatGPT Enterprise models to federal employees for just $1 for the next year. Announced in collaboration with the General Services Administration (GSA), this agreement allows federal agencies unlimited access to advanced AI models for an additional 60 days. Furthermore, employees will benefit from a new user community and tailored training resources to leverage the platform effectively. OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, emphasized that making AI accessible to government personnel helps ensure its benefits reach all citizens. This initiative aligns with President Trump’s AI Action Plan, aiming to enhance public service efficiency. Notably, OpenAI reassured that interactions with federal employees will not be used as training data. As government agencies seek to modernize and improve operations, adopting generative AI presents a significant opportunity, particularly for large departments like Defence. This strategic collaboration positions OpenAI as a key player in transforming federal operations through AI technology.
