OpenAI Considers Funding Opportunities with Investors from Saudi Arabia and India, Reports The Information

admin

OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, is in discussions with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), India’s Reliance Industries, and the UAE’s MGX regarding a $40 billion financing effort, as reported by The Information. Each investor is expected to contribute hundreds of millions. OpenAI aims to secure funding for its model development and a major infrastructure initiative known as Stargate, with financing primarily led by SoftBank. Earlier this year, CEO Sam Altman met with India’s IT Minister to explore a low-cost AI ecosystem and planned a visit to the UAE for similar discussions with MGX. Additionally, OpenAI is looking to raise at least $100 million each from Coatue and Founders Fund, with projections to secure an extra $17 billion by 2027. The involved parties did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
