OpenAI is enhancing ChatGPT’s Voice mode with new features aimed at user customization. The addition of “Voice speed” settings allows users to adjust the speaking pace between 0.5x to 2.0x using a slider, although these options are currently hidden. Furthermore, the rollout includes “custom instructions prefix,” enabling Voice mode to retain user preferences without necessitating repeated prompts. For example, if users instruct the assistant to “be bright and bubbly,” it will respond accordingly without extraneous elaboration. Additionally, OpenAI has upgraded the model selector, offering access to the new GPT-5 models, including options for high, fast, and auto settings. The restoration of GPT-4o for paid users further enhances the platform’s capabilities, providing more tailored responses. These advancements reflect OpenAI’s commitment to improving user experience and functionality within the ChatGPT ecosystem.
