admin

OpenAI has launched the next phase of its ‘AI for Impact Accelerator Programme’ in India, aimed at helping nonprofits harness AI to address social issues. Eleven organizations will receive API credits, totaling $150,000 in technical grants. These credits offer a prepaid method for accessing OpenAI’s tools without traditional billing. The initiative, part of the broader ‘OpenAI Academy,’ enhances AI accessibility for pressing challenges in sectors like healthcare, education, agriculture, and gender equity, benefiting underserved communities.

Supported by The Agency Fund, Tech4Dev, and Turn.io, the program includes technical guidance and collaborative learning. OpenAI also hosted a workshop to showcase its latest AI models, aiding organizations in developing scalable solutions. Pragya Misra, OpenAI India’s Policy and Partnerships Lead, commended the cohort for its effective use of AI. OpenAI aims to expand this initiative in India, emphasizing real-world impact and the development of empathetic, human-centered AI solutions aligned with the ‘India AI Mission.’
