OpenAI has officially ended its partnership with Microsoft and is now collaborating with Google Cloud for AI computing power. OpenAI is also reducing prices and launching new models to compete with Google’s Gemini team. Sources indicate that OpenAI has become cloud-independent, with projects aimed at establishing a robust AI infrastructure across the U.S. CEO Sam Altman is focused on expanding OpenAI’s presence globally, including in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, Google is gaining traction in the large language model (LLM) space, having learned from past mistakes. OpenAI’s new model, o3, has been significantly discounted, but it will soon be overshadowed by the more powerful version, o3-pro, which comes at a higher price. Analysts note that while Google may find ChatGPT a potential threat as an alternative search engine, it is currently strengthening its own AI offerings, particularly with new features in Google Gemini to enhance user experience.
