OpenAI has unveiled AgentKit, a comprehensive toolkit designed to simplify the development and management of AI agents, announced on October 6, 2025, during Developers’ Day. This innovation streamlines the previously complex process of creating AI agents, consolidating tools and platforms into a single interface. Notably, Agent Builder allows developers to visually design multi-agent workflows through drag-and-drop functionalities, making it easy to test and modify agents. The new Connector Registry enables seamless data management across various platforms such as Dropbox, Google Drive, and Microsoft Teams. To enhance security, Guardrails are implemented to prevent harmful actions. Additionally, ChatKit facilitates embedding chat agents in websites for applications like customer support and onboarding. The Evals feature improves agent testing by allowing automatic grading and workflow checks. Lastly, OpenAI is expanding reinforcement fine-tuning (RFT) for enhanced decision-making. Currently, ChatKit and Evals are available, while Agent Builder and Connector Registry are in beta. More features are forthcoming.
