OpenAI (PC:OPAIQ) has acquired Software Applications Incorporated, a startup known for its AI interface, Sky, for Apple (AAPL) computers. This innovative product enables Mac users to manage tasks such as writing, coding, and planning using natural language. Sky not only interacts within applications but also comprehends user screen content. All 12 employees from Software Applications will join OpenAI, although the financial details of the acquisition remain undisclosed. Nick Turley, OpenAI’s head of ChatGPT, emphasized that Sky’s integration with Macs brings the company closer to its aim of embedding AI seamlessly into daily tools. OpenAI is in a growth phase, having previously acquired Statsig for $1.1 billion and AI hardware firm io for over $6 billion this year. For investors, Apple currently holds a Moderate Buy rating among analysts, with an average price target of $260.40 per share, aligning with fair value assessments.
