OpenAI Reaches Milestone of 3 Million Enterprise Subscribers

admin

OpenAI announced that it has reached three million paying business users, an increase from two million in February. This growth includes customers from ChatGPT Enterprise, Team, and Edu. COO Brad Lightcap highlighted the connection between ChatGPT’s popularity as a consumer tool and its adoption in various industries, including finance and healthcare, with notable clients like Lowe’s and Morgan Stanley. OpenAI reported $3.7 billion in revenue for 2024 despite losses of $5 billion, projecting $12.7 billion in 2025 and $29.4 billion for 2026, but it doesn’t expect to be profitable until 2029. Paid subscriptions account for 75% of its revenue. Recent updates include “connectors” for accessing third-party tools and a new audio-only “record mode” for meeting follow-ups. OpenAI has also acquired John Ive’s startup, expanding into hardware. Overall, generative AI is gaining traction, with many employees believing it enhances productivity.
