On September 12, OpenAI launched the “OpenAI Grove,” a mentorship program designed for young entrepreneurs aiming to create AI applications. This initiative, hosted at OpenAI’s headquarters, spans five weeks, featuring weekly office hours, in-person seminars, and expert guidance from OpenAI professionals. Participants will access new tools and models pre-launch, along with technical assistance and community support. The program provides opportunities to explore capital raising avenues, either within or outside of OpenAI. Following the pre-execution “Pioneer Program” initiated in April, Grove’s inaugural session kicks off on October 20, with about 15 participants; applications are due by September 24. Successful participants may continue collaborations with the $500 billion ChatGPT creator post-program. Other tech giants, including Google and Microsoft, are also investing in AI startup accelerators, highlighting the growing trend; a JP Morgan study anticipates AI companies will account for 71% of U.S. venture funding by 2025, up from 45% the previous year.
