Announced on August 15, users can access this feature on both web and mobile apps. The update includes friendly interactions with responses like “Good question” and “Great start,” while maintaining neutrality without increased flattery compared to earlier versions. For users dissatisfied with GPT-5, particularly those with Plus and Pro accounts, instructions to revert to GPT-4o are available: visit chatgpt.com, select your profile at the bottom left, navigate to Settings, and enable the “Show legacy models” option. Additionally, OpenAI has reinstated o3 and other models, including 4o-mini.
