OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Health, a specialized feature designed for health-related inquiries, developed in collaboration with medical professionals. As health is a prevalent topic among ChatGPT users—with over 230 million weekly queries—this new capability allows individuals to manage their wellness proactively. Users can connect medical records and wellness apps like Apple Health and MyFitnessPal, enabling ChatGPT to provide personalized insights on test results, appointment preparations, diet, workouts, and insurance options based on their health data.
Emphasizing security, OpenAI has implemented additional protections for health data, ensuring conversations are encrypted and compartmentalized. This feature maintains user privacy, as health-related discussions won’t be utilized to train AI models, and users control access to their health memories.
To access ChatGPT Health, users can join a waitlist. After approval, the health feature can be found in the sidebar, initially limited to U.S. users, with options to customize interaction preferences.
