OpenAI is enhancing its presence in India with its first office in Delhi and plans to launch ChatGPT Go, a budget subscription priced at ₹399/month, which will be free for new users starting November 4, 2025. This initiative coincides with OpenAI’s DevDay Exchange event in Bengaluru. Nick Turley, VP of ChatGPT at OpenAI, emphasized that this offering supports the “India-first” commitment and aligns with the IndiaAI Mission, as the country gears up for the upcoming AI Impact Summit. Existing subscribers will also receive a complimentary year with the Go plan, which offers higher messaging limits and access to the latest GPT-5 model, although it lacks some features available in Plus and Pro plans. Following its August launch, the Go plan has quickly gained popularity, doubling the number of paid subscribers in India and expanding to nearly 90 markets globally. This move underscores OpenAI’s dedication to advancing AI accessibility in India.
