On September 23, 2025, Oracle CEO Clay Magouyrk discussed the company’s relationship with OpenAI during a media tour of the Stargate AI data center in Abilene, Texas. Recently, a Bloomberg report suggested that Oracle might delay completing data centers for OpenAI until 2028 due to labor and material shortages. Oracle denied these claims, stating that site selection and timelines had been mutually agreed upon with OpenAI and that all milestones remain on track. Although Oracle’s shares fell over 4% following the report, the spokesperson did not specify a timeline for launching the cloud infrastructure for OpenAI. The partnership between Oracle and OpenAI is valued at over $300 billion over five years, marking a significant shift for Oracle, which typically focuses on database software. Meanwhile, OpenAI is also collaborating with Nvidia and Broadcom for future infrastructure needs.
