Palo Alto Networks has announced its acquisition of Koi, a strategic move aimed at enhancing endpoint security for AI agents. This development, revealed just before the company’s second-quarter earnings report, is set to integrate Koi’s expertise into Palo Alto’s existing security framework, particularly within the Prisma AIRS platform and Cortex XDR. Koi specializes in safeguarding AI tools and agents, addressing growing threats like authentication bypass, API-based remote code execution, and agent spoofing. According to Lee Klarich, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Palo Alto Networks, this acquisition will bridge security gaps, bolstering endpoint visibility and safety. Notably, the Koi deal follows Palo Alto’s recent acquisition of CyberArk and the release of Unit 42 Managed XSIAM 2.0, enhancing their managed security operations. This acquisition positions Palo Alto Networks as a leader in integrating AI security solutions, catering to the rapidly evolving landscape of cybersecurity.
