Mark Voltaire, a Miami native, recently won SPARC South Florida’s pitch competition, earning $5,000 and the opportunity to compete for a $1 million investment at the Startup World Cup in San Francisco. His startup, Parlay Pal, is an AI-powered sports betting app that simplifies betting odds for users, conceived during a football game.
The event, held at the Gale Miami Hotel by The Source Groups, attracted hundreds and featured 40 startup founders. Voltaire, combining five years of coding experience with a passion for sports, created Parlay Pal in just 21 days.
Panel discussions included entrepreneurial advice on resilience and leveraging AI effectively. Additional awards were presented to local ventures, emphasizing the commitment to nurturing startup growth beyond financial support. Co-founders of The Source Group expressed their goal of empowering multiple businesses in South Florida. Voltaire is now refining his pitch and preparing for the national competition in San Francisco.
