Pioneering AI Agent System for Scientific Research Unveiled in Beijing

At the inaugural International Conference on AI Scientists (ICAIS 2025) in Beijing, the world’s first AI agent system for scientific research, OmniScientist, was unveiled by the Zhongguancun Academy and the Zhongguancun Institute of Artificial Intelligence. This AI-driven platform aims to enhance scientific education by acting as a “co-creation partner,” assisting researchers from literature review to paper writing. By integrating digital twin agents of renowned scientists, it provides young researchers with resources, insights, and support throughout their academic journeys. The conference focused on the evolution of AI in scientific innovation, with experts discussing advances in intelligent materials. Concurrently, China launched a groundbreaking coke oven gas conversion project in Liaoning Province, achieving 100% efficiency in transforming industrial emissions into valuable resources like LNG and hydrogen, significantly contributing to green steel development. This initiative could reduce carbon emissions in the steel industry by 45 million tons annually, fostering sustainable practices and economic growth.
