A recent Pew Research Center survey reveals that 64% of U.S. teens use AI chatbots like ChatGPT and Google Gemini, with 28% engaging with them daily. This marks a significant integration of AI technology into adolescent life since ChatGPT’s launch. The survey indicates that 4% of teens use chatbots “almost constantly,” while a combined 24% use them several times or once a day. Notably, 36% of teens reported no usage. The study also highlights concerns over the impact of AI chatbots on youth, given ongoing legal issues surrounding their effects on mental health. Additionally, older teens (15-17) are more frequent users. ChatGPT leads as the most popular tool, utilized by 59% of surveyed teens. Other social platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram remain trending among this demographic, signaling a distinct shift in online habits as AI technology continues to shape their interactions.
