Qodo, an AI coding startup from Israel, has partnered with Google Cloud to enhance the integrity of AI-generated software. As reliance on AI for coding increases, effective oversight tools are essential. CEO Itamar Friedman emphasized the importance of maintaining the values behind AI-generated code, anticipating a future where AI writes most of it autonomously. The company, formerly known as Codium, recently launched Qodo-Embed-1-1.5B, a powerful code embedding model, and Qodo Cover, an AI tool for regression testing. Their core offering, Qodo Merge, analyzes code for quality issues and will be freely available to open-source projects. Qodo’s tools are now integrated into Google Cloud, improving their accessibility and deployment in enterprise environments. They also aim to support startups with discounts through Google Cloud’s Startup Perks program.
