Reddit has unveiled ‘Reddit community intelligence’ at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, marking a significant step in community-driven marketing. This initiative utilizes over 22 billion posts and comments to provide structured insights for brands, aiding in campaign planning and authentic audience connections. Two alpha-stage tools are introduced: ‘Reddit insights’, an AI-driven social listening tool designed for real-time campaign analysis and brand health monitoring, and ‘Conversation summary add-ons’, which incorporate community comments as social proof in advertising. Early tests indicated these tools enhance ad performance and engagement, with brands like The Hershey Company and Lucid Motors already benefiting. Reddit’s COO, Jen Wong, emphasized the importance of human content amid growing AI use, while Publicis executives noted the transformative impact of ‘Reddit insights’ on understanding brand sentiment. As tech giants like Meta and TikTok also integrate AI in advertising, Reddit aims to redefine brand success through deeper community intelligence.
