Meta, the tech giant led by CEO Mark Zuckerberg, has officially acquired Limitless, a US startup known for its AI-powered wearable pendant that records and summarizes conversations. While financial details remain undisclosed, the acquisition aligns with Meta’s vision of enhancing AI capabilities across its platforms, including Facebook and Instagram. Limitless co-founder Dan Siroker expressed enthusiasm about joining Meta to accelerate the development of AI-enabled wearables. This acquisition follows Meta’s substantial investments in AI and recruitment of top talent in the field, including from OpenAI and Apple. Limitless previously raised $33 million and was valued at $368 million in its latest funding round. This strategic move also marks Meta’s first major acquisition since the purchase of virtual reality firm Within Unlimited in 2023, signaling a commitment to building a future focused on superintelligence. As Meta pushes toward its ambitious AI goals, the tech landscape is evolving rapidly.
