Replika CEO Eugenia Kuyda Departs to Unveil New Startup, Wabi

Eugenia Kuyda, founder of the AI startup Replika, has launched a new venture called Wabi, designed to create mini-apps effortlessly without coding. Kuyda, who recently stepped down as CEO of Replika to focus on Wabi, describes it as a platform for users to discover, remix, and share innovative tools for daily life. Currently in private beta with a 10-person team, Wabi is backed by Ludlow Ventures, also an investor in Replika. Despite her transition, Kuyda remains actively involved with Replika, serving as an advisor and holding significant shares, emphasizing her commitment to the app. Replika has garnered $11 million in funding and currently boasts over 40 million users. The platform has faced challenges, including legal issues in Italy regarding data protection. Nonetheless, Kuyda envisions Replika as a crucial stepping stone for fostering human relationships, appealing to a predominantly adult user base.
