Apple Inc. (AAPL) is reportedly considering partnerships with OpenAI and Anthropic to enhance its delayed AI-powered Siri. According to Bloomberg, discussions have occurred to leverage their AI models instead of developing in-house technology, especially since Siri can access ChatGPT on certain iPhone models. The mounting delays have intensified pressure on Apple to demonstrate its competitiveness in AI against other tech giants. Anthropic has declined to comment, while Apple and OpenAI haven’t responded to inquiries by Investopedia. During the recent Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple’s Senior VP of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi, acknowledged the need for more time to meet quality standards for Siri enhancements, promising more details in the upcoming year. Following this news, Apple shares rose by 2%, closing above $205, despite experiencing a nearly 20% drop in value in 2025, positioning it as the second-worst performer among the Magnificent Seven stocks, surpassing only Tesla (TSLA).
