Report Finds Majority of HR Professionals Underskilled in AI Training

Share

HR professionals are increasingly tasked with integrating AI into the workplace, yet a significant skills gap remains in their proficiency with this technology. A study by General Assembly revealed that only 30% of HR workers have received comprehensive AI training tailored to their roles, with 26% reporting no training at all. Many find existing training either too generic (12%) or not practical for real application (18%).

Daniele Grassi, CEO of General Assembly, emphasized the necessity of upskilling HR teams to leverage AI effectively, noting that trained teams are 35% more confident in their skills. A majority (70%) of HR workers seek workshops on specific use cases, while 63% desire ongoing updates on AI tools. However, just 6% are motivated by mandates from leadership, with 41% feeling that AI adoption adds to their workload.

To ensure effective HR talent development, employers must address these training gaps. Failure to do so could hinder AI adoption and broader strategic objectives.
