Revolutionizing Health Assessments: Wayne State Partners with Syntasa on AI Innovations

Understanding community health needs is essential for public health officials to secure funding and implement effective interventions. Inspired by this necessity, Dr. Phillip Levy and his team at Wayne State University developed Project PHOENIX, which integrates electronic health records with over 70 anonymized data sources. This virtual warehouse aids researchers, community leaders, and policymakers in analyzing health outcomes and designing targeted strategies.

Through collaboration with Google Public Sector and Syntasa, they launched CHNA 2.0, revolutionizing the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) process. This innovative solution drastically reduces report creation time from a year to weeks by leveraging PHOENIX data and the Vertex AI Platform. CHNA 2.0 also incorporates Syntasa Sentiment Analytics, utilizing real-time data from Google Search and social media to gauge community concerns. Built on the Syntasa Data + AI Platform, this scalable architecture efficiently processes large datasets, ensuring timely insights for impactful community health initiatives.
