The Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) is set to launch SabhaSaar, an innovative AI-powered tool aimed at automating the creation of structured Minutes of Meeting (MoM) from audio and video recordings of Gram Sabha and Panchayat meetings. The launch in New Delhi will be led by Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Union Minister of State Prof S P Singh Baghel. SabhaSaar uses advanced AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to transcribe content, identify key decisions, and generate formatted meeting minutes. Integrated with Bhashini, India’s National Language Translation Mission, it supports 13 Indian languages, ensuring inclusivity. States and Union Territories are encouraged to adopt SabhaSaar by the Special Gram Sabhas on 15 August 2025, with initial deployment in 1,194 Gram Panchayats in Tripura. By streamlining documentation processes, SabhaSaar enhances transparency and empowers local governance, underscoring the government’s commitment to digital innovation in enhancing effective governance.
