Sam Altman’s Residence Reportedly Targeted in Second Attack

Two individuals were arrested in San Francisco for allegedly firing a gun near OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s residence, following an earlier incident involving a Molotov cocktail attack on his home. The arrests occurred on the morning of April 12, 2026, after a vehicle was linked to 25-year-old Amanda Tom and 23-year-old Muhamad Tarik Hussein, who were caught on surveillance footage. Earlier, 20-year-old Daniel Moreno-Gama was charged with throwing an incendiary device at Altman’s home and attempting to break into OpenAI headquarters. Moreno-Gama’s possession included incendiary devices and a manifesto expressing violent intentions towards AI executives, reflecting deep concerns about artificial intelligence. The recent events have sparked discussions about the potential dangers of AI, prompting some, like Dr. Emile P. Torres, to condemn violence while others voice escalating fears for their safety. OpenAI has not commented on these incidents as investigations continue.
