Samsung Plans to Expand Gemini AI-Powered Devices to 800 Million This Year

Samsung Electronics is set to enhance artificial intelligence (AI) integration in mobile devices, aiming to double the number of AI-enabled products powered by Google’s Gemini, from 400 million to 800 million by 2026. This strategic move is designed to strengthen Samsung’s position in the competitive global AI landscape, aligning with the launch of Gemini 3, which demonstrates superior AI model performance. Co-CEO T M Roh emphasizes AI application across all products and services, extending beyond smartphones to include TVs and home appliances, enhancing brand awareness of Galaxy AI significantly from 30% to 80% in a year.

Additionally, the ongoing global memory chip shortage is impacting Samsung’s smartphone margins, prompting considerations for potential price hikes. Although the foldable smartphone market is growing slower than anticipated, Roh believes it will become mainstream within two to three years, with Samsung currently holding a dominant share in the foldable segment.
