Samsung has formed a strategic partnership with OpenAI, Samsung Electronics, Samsung SDS, Samsung C&T, and Samsung Heavy Industries to advance global AI data center infrastructure. This collaboration aims to leverage leading technologies in semiconductors, data centers, shipbuilding, cloud services, and maritime technologies. Samsung Electronics will supply high-performance DRAM solutions to support OpenAI’s Stargate initiative, meeting projected demands of 900,000 DRAM wafers monthly. Samsung SDS will assist in designing and operating AI data centers while providing enterprise AI services and supporting local adoption of OpenAI’s ChatGPT Enterprise in Korea. Additionally, Samsung C&T and Samsung Heavy Industries will focus on developing innovative floating data centers, which help mitigate land scarcity and reduce emissions. This extensive partnership enhances Korea’s goal of becoming a top nation in AI, fostering groundbreaking advancements and exploring broader AI adoption across Samsung’s companies to transform the workplace.
