SEBI Unveils AI Tools to Enhance Fraud Prevention, Safeguard Investors, and Uphold Market Integrity

India’s capital markets are experiencing robust growth, with a significant increase in unique investors rising from 4.3 crore in Fiscal 2020 to 13.7 crore today. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) chairman, Ajay Pandey, announced that the new Past Risk and Return Verification Agency (PARRVA) will offer verified performance data to guide investors towards reliable intermediaries and away from unreliable financial influencers (finfluencers). In the current financial year, approximately 1.7 lakh crore has been raised through 311 Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), contributing to total equity mobilization exceeding 3.8 lakh crore. Pandey emphasized that SEBI is enhancing its regulatory framework to streamline compliance, eliminate redundancy, and prioritize investor protection and market integrity. Key areas of growth include equity, derivatives, mutual funds, real estate investment trusts (REITs), infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs), and corporate bonds, showcasing a dynamic investment landscape in India.
