SK Telecom has launched AX (Adot X) 4.0, a highly advanced open-source Korean-specific large language model (LLM) recognized for its exceptional Korean language processing capabilities. Available on Hugging Face, AX 4.0 comes in two models: a standard version with 72 billion parameters and a lightweight version with 7 billion parameters, catering to diverse user needs. This model surpasses competitors in token efficiency, achieving 33% better performance than GPT-4o, and excels in key benchmarks, scoring 78.3 on the KMMLU and 83.5 on CLIcK tests. Designed with data security in mind, AX 4.0 can operate on-premise, allowing companies to maintain data sovereignty. The model’s applications extend to various services within the SK Group and support derivative model development. Furthermore, SKT plans to release a reasoning model for enhanced problem-solving and coding this month, aiming to optimize technology for the domestic business landscape.
