Mozilla AI has introduced cq (colloquy), an open-source knowledge-sharing platform for AI coding agents aimed at improving collaboration and reducing repeated errors. Unlike Stack Overflow, which has seen declining usage, cq allows AI agents to learn from one another’s experiences. As AI technologies evolve, the initiative provides a solution for combating their isolation by enabling agents to access a collective knowledge base, thus minimizing wasted resources and mistakes. With cq, agents query a shared commons for solutions to unfamiliar challenges and contribute new findings, enhancing the quality of the shared knowledge pool. It operates as an MCP server with plugins, facilitating seamless integration across various platforms. Additionally, Mozilla AI is developing trust mechanisms and confidence scoring to enhance the reliability of shared knowledge. This innovative project invites community input for further development and aims to redefine how AI agents share and confirm code-related insights.
