Stripe has unveiled groundbreaking tools designed for businesses to issue their own stablecoins, laying the groundwork for agentic commerce and monetization of AI products. This revelation emerged during the Stripe Tour New York showcase, which highlighted over 40 product updates.
The new Open Issuance feature allows businesses to launch and manage customized stablecoins with minimal coding, empowering neobanks to benefit from stablecoin dollar deposits without navigating complex regulatory landscapes. This initiative is powered by Bridge, a stablecoin infrastructure company recently acquired by Stripe.
Moreover, Stripe is collaborating with partners like Microsoft Copilot and Anthropic to test solutions derived from the Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP), a framework for transitioning to agent-mediated commerce. Additional updates include advanced features in Stripe Billing for hybrid revenue models and enhancements in Stripe Radar to prevent “friendly fraud.” Stripe’s move signals a commitment to mainstream adoption of stablecoins and AI-driven commerce.
