Share

The Charity Digital Skills Report 2025 reveals significant growth in AI adoption among charities, with 76% now utilizing AI tools, up from 61% last year. The report highlights a tripling in charities developing AI policies, from 16% to 48%. Despite this progress, financial constraints due to the cost-of-living crisis persist, hindering digital advancement for 69% of respondents. Notably, only 44% of charities have a digital strategy, a decrease from 50% the previous year. Over a third of CEOs and 40% of boards lack adequate AI skills, indicating a need for upskilling across the sector. Furthermore, 51% of charities reduced or ceased their use of X (formerly Twitter) for communication. Many face challenges in securing funding for digital investments, particularly among minority-led charities. Experts stress the urgency of strategic leadership and investment in essential digital tools to foster a more equitable transition to digital operations in the charity sector.
