Motivated by the long hours his orthopaedic surgeon father and anaesthesiologist mother worked, John aimed to reduce administrative burdens for healthcare professionals. Currently in beta testing, SgScribe efficiently transcribes consultations in English, Mandarin, Malay, and Indonesian, ensuring patient confidentiality by excluding personal identifiers from notes. With 90% accuracy, the tool is already being utilized by three specialists, including orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Lo Ngai Nung, who praises its efficiency. John plans to keep SgScribe free, monetizing through paid features and ads while seeking seed funding post-International Baccalaureate exams. His experience has led him to rethink his future career, realizing his passion lies in software development rather than medicine. This initiative reflects a growing trend of teens leveraging technology to address real-world health challenges.
