Fitbit’s smartphone app is set for a major redesign in October, coinciding with the launch of the Pixel Watch 4. This revamp introduces a new AI-powered Personal Health Coach, built using Google’s Gemini technology. The app now features a complete overhaul, improving navigation and data visualization and introducing a dark mode. Available exclusively to Fitbit Premium subscribers, the Personal Health Coach allows users to interactively receive tailored fitness and health guidance based on 24/7 data from their Fitbit or Pixel Watch. During onboarding, users provide preferences for a customized experience, with insights adapted over time, such as adjusting workout plans based on sleep scores. The app emphasizes customization, allowing users to track key performance metrics and engage in ongoing conversations with the Coach. It’s important to note that user health data remains separate from Google Ads, adhering to privacy commitments since Fitbit’s acquisition. This enhances Fitbit’s focus on delivering personalized health insights.
