However, NHC officials, including Wallace Hogsett, emphasize that AI will not replace human forecasters. Experienced meteorologists remain essential for interpreting complex data and delivering risk-based messages. The upcoming hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, with typical storm formation beginning around June 20. More AI enhancements are expected in the future, ensuring improved accuracy while keeping expert oversight a priority for public safety.
