This Week in AI Development Tools: A2A Contributes to the Linux Foundation, OpenAI Expands API with Deep Research, and More (June 27, 2025)

admin

At the Open Source Summit North America, Google announced its donation of the Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol to the Linux Foundation. This protocol standardizes connections between agents, complementing Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), which connects agents to various data sources. Google designed A2A to enhance large-scale, multi-agent system deployment. Meanwhile, OpenAI introduced Deep Research, allowing developers to create research agents, and Webhooks for API notifications, alongside price reductions for web search integration. Anthropic now permits developers to host and share Claude apps, charging API usage to user accounts. Additionally, Qodo launched the Qodo Gen CLI framework, enabling developers to create customized AI coding agents. Warp 2.0 evolved into an Agentic Development Environment, streamlining development workflows. Gemini’s Agent Mode helps developers achieve complex tasks more efficiently, and Vercel launched an AI assistant to analyze app performance. Tricentis introduced an agent for automated test case generation and improved human-agent communication.
