Tragic Aftermath of AI Cheating Allegation: Class 10 Student Dies by Suicide in UP After Being Scolded for Using AI Tool in Exam

A tragic incident in Uttar Pradesh has sparked outrage regarding exam protocols as a 16-year-old Class 10 student from Greater Noida West reportedly died by suicide. The incident occurred on December 23, following accusations of using AI tools for answers during a pre-board exam. After being questioned by school authorities about her alleged misconduct, the student returned home and took her own life. Her father has accused the school principal and teachers of mental harassment, claiming they humiliated his daughter, leading to emotional distress. He contends that they are responsible for abetment to suicide. The school, however, denies these allegations, asserting that the student was treated in accordance with CBSE rules. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage and gathering statements to assess the events surrounding the questioning. This incident highlights the pressing need for schools to address mental health and support students during academic pressures, especially with the increasing reliance on technology like AI.
